Dear family, friends and partners,

Thank you for your prayers while I was in Mexico from Dec 3rd to 11th.  I had a most wonderful trip.  Emotional but wonderful.

In Centro de Amor, the leaders did not know I was coming except for Pastor Martin and his wife Claudia.  I had sent monies ahead of time so we could have a meal together.  Pastor Martin got everyone to close their eyes for the blessing and at the end he finished his prayer by saying: “Thank you Lord also for the beautiful surprise”.  While they were praying, Claudia took me by the hand and walked me to where Martin was standing.  When they opened their eyes……..there I was. Well, needless to say there were tears, shouts of joy and lots of hugs and kisses.  It was a wonderful evening.  I always end up being the one who gets blessed the most.

Saturday we had services in both Centro de Amor and in Rosarito.  Sunday we were in Terrazas del Valle.  We had so many kids in Terrazas, we had to do the activities outside.  For me, it was back to singing and teaching the Word outside on a dirt “floor”. It felt absolutely wonderful. We had almost 600 in total in our 3 locations.

In each location our new puppet teams were absolutely wonderful in their ministry to the children.  All the kids received a good warm meal.  We also fed all the moms that came with their children.  I had the opportunity to talk to most of them. I had candies and a little gift for every child.  What always amazes me is the wonderful connection between the leaders, the kids and myself…………it’s always like I’m there on a regular basis.

Roger was never far from anyone’s mind and heart.  I have a little one that is 4 yrs. old; her name is Tamaris.  Her mom (one of my precious workers) told me that everyday she looks at a picture of Roger & I that we sent last December and says:“ Mommy, this is hermana Denise and she is coming soon to visit me and this is hermano Roger and he is sitting in heaven with Jesus.” How very very precious!

The construction of the little apartment in Terrazas is going well.  The men are now ready to put in the wiring and the drywall. They have to do both at the same time because otherwise people break in and steal the wiring. We also need to put in a small bathroom before the young couple can move in. The work should be done by the end of January. Gabriel and Gloria are very excited for the opportunity to both live and minister to the children in that area.  As the finances permit, the next step will be to build a kitchen next to the apartment. This kichen will be used by Gabriel and Gloria but also by my precious ladies who do the cooking for the children.

It is extremely poor in that area. Please pray for Godly guidance for the TLCCM Board of Directors, myself and my leaders as we make decisions.  My leaders have asked me to consider starting a Feeding Station for school children once the construction is finished.  It would be open 5 days a week from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  This way we could feed the kids coming back from school for those who attend school in the morning.  We could also feed the ones going to school in the afternoon. Again, we need to seek guidance from the Lord in order to move in His timing in everything we do.

There is certainly a spirit of fear as you come in from the USA border into Mexico. Soldiers with machine guns ready to fire, one lane going in where we use to have 5-6.  Car doors must be locked at all times and windows must remain closed.  One needs to be really aware of his surroundings.  If you spot a car with no licence plates, it is safer to get away as quickly as possible.  Most of the time, these cars have a driver and two passengers in the back seat.  They are on the hunt for rival drug gang members.  If they spot one, down come the windows and out come the guns.

We were never in any danger.  Angel is very good at having his ears and eyes watching what is going on around him.  Before I left to go to Mexico, my home bible study group prayed for me for safety.  My good friend Diane said that while we prayed she saw big and tall angels surrounding me. I knew they were there.  I felt completely safe.

It was a privilege for me to be there and do Christmas with my leaders and the children.  It is helping me in making this Christmas season a little easier for me this year.  Again, I thank you for your prayers and support. I  also thank the Lord for each and everyone of you.  I do appreciate and love you all.

Take care everyone,
